- HOW TO IDENTIFY AN ORIGINAL MATRIX-MOD MXL2 -

All the FAKE MATRIX MXL2 present into the market can be

                             

grouped into two types: 

                    

                   

                         

FAKE TYPE 1:

It is a Xilinx Chip remarked as ACTEL or as "MXL2 DNS-1009".

Can be GREEN or RED PCB.

It can be easily identified because the SX PAD is connected to the pin before the

last of the modchip. Check picture HERE.

If you have any doubt just turn it around, the back side is completely different from

the Original one.

                                                

                      

FAKE TYPE 2:

The FAKE n.2 is using a Processor that has the same pin-out of the ACTEL that we

use in our original MXL2.  This fake has a better boot rate than the first one, but the 

rest of the code inside is very bad quality. 

To identify this second fake we are preparing a software to be burned on a CD-ROM,

that will automatically test the Modchip inside your PS2 and detect if it is the original

one or the fake one.

               

If you have a MXL2 that IS NOT making the GREEN FIX or IS NOT centering PSX

games, than you have a FAKE MXL2 type 2.

* )  Boot rate tested with 3 different PS2 games on DVD-R  for 30 times each. 

1 )  It is not possible to view DVD movies with an RGB Cable.

2 )  PSX Games are not centered in the screen but shifted in the Top Right of the screen.

3 )  NO SWAP POSSIBLE!! Disk authentication will fail if swapping disks after boot.
